Betty K. Williams

July 11, 1946 ~ February 27, 2020 (age 73)



Beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, daughter and friend....

Betty was born the first of three children on July 11,1946 to Bill and Loree Karas in Tulsa, OK. Betty graduated high school in Mart, TX in 1964. She met the love of her life, Charles Williams while waiting tables at a small cafe. They were soon married on September 18, 1964 and lived in Waco, TX where they had three daughters, Ginger, Julie and Rebecca (Becky).

After graduating high school, Betty received education in secretarial skills and work. She worked in the healthcare field for many years doing medical transcription before moving on to administrative work and supervision. Betty worked for several different employers during her long career to include the Veteran's Administration, hospitals, clinics and property management companies.

Betty was a long time member of Church of the Open Door in Waco, TX. Betty and Charles considered this their church home and family. Betty assisted with several different ministries including prayer team, outreach, food pantry, and a ladies’ group that was very dear to her heart called Overcomers. Both Betty and Charles were blessed by this church and the church members.

Betty had a strong faith in God, a deep and unconditional love for her husband, daughters, grandchildren, family and close friends. She will be deeply missed and honored by the many memories she leaves behind.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Ginger Ross and husband Shane, Julie Strawser and husband John, Becky Hall and husband Mark; by her grandchildren Cody Alanis, Austin Williams, Amerha Ross, Shanna Ross, Bonnie Rose Alanis, Grace Hall, Charlie Hall, Jacob Hall and Caleb Strawser; by her great-grandchildren Lillie Alanis, Carter Wallace, Emmalyn Abbott, Renesmeigh Alanis, Waylon Wallace, Addie Alanis and Saylor Wallace; by her sister Helen Webb and by her sister-in-law Linda Karas; and by her mother-in-law Bonnie Williams.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Walton Charles Williams, Jr.; by her brother, Ronald Karas; by her parents Bill Karas followed by Loree Karas.

Betty K. Williams will be buried beside her husband, Charles Williams at Waco Memorial cemetery on Tuesday March 17, 2020. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering in Betty's honor on Tuesday March 17, 2020 at The Church of The Open Door, 900 N Loop 340, Bellmead, TX 76705 at 1p in which all family and friends of Betty are invited to gather for a meal in celebration and remembrance of her life and her light.
