Dear Christi, Misty and Doyle, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for turning a very sad situation for my family and me into a positive experience. Christi, I’m not sure what I would have done without you. Your professionalism in helping me plan my grandmother, Josie’s, funeral went above and beyond the call of duty. From the first time I spoke with you (and there were many) until the funeral, I was okay knowing I would be working with you. I appreciate the time that you took to help me understand what needed to be done. I also appreciate you helping me think of all of the little details to make Josie’s funeral beautiful and memorable. I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that you walked me through the entire process with such grace. I never cried during preparations because there was such calmness in your voice, even though we started preparing years before Josie passed. I was able to relax and smile the day of her funeral. The support from the three of you was tremendous, and the fact that we pulled this together with me living in another state was a feat in itself! I’m reminded of all the emails and photos you sent me, with quotes and correspondence. It worked perfectly because of you. Misty, your smile, supportiveness, and knowledge, once Josie passed, were inspiring. The online obituary was beautiful. The video montage at the funeral was great, even though we were late getting the photos to you… I am aware you had to put the video together quickly, and on your own time! Your patience with us was so sweet and considerate. I was concerned that you had not received the pictures in time, yet you reassured us it was no problem at all! Doyle, thank you for being there for us once Josie finally departed. You made her look beautiful. My dad was actually able to look at Josie, lying peacefully without pain in her expression. He didn’t think he’d be able to. Thank you for taking care of everything skillfully and efficiently, and thank you for easing the pain for my younger sisters, who helped us with the final arrangements. In closing, I have to tell you all how very important it was to my family and me that each one of you not only listened to what we wanted, but made it happen. I know we might not have been the most conventional funeral people in terms of music and sermons! Thank you for suggesting that Wayne officiate. He was wonderful. Thanks also to the lady in the office, who kindly greeted us and made us comfortable during our visit. As I said once before, if I lived in Waco, I would ask to be buried at Waco Memorial.
