Susan Rose Halstead

Susan was born on June 22, 1946, in Port Washington, Wisconsin. She was raised a dairy farmer’s daughter. Her father moved the dairy from Wisconsin to Texas in 1951 when she was still a youthful age. Growing up in the Klein community near Spring, TX, she milked cows and did many other farm chores alongside her four siblings.

Susan married Clifford Halstead in November 1968. They lived in Houston, TX at the time and she had a son, Sean, in September of 1976. Though raised Lutheran, Susan attended services at First Baptist Church of Houston with her husband and son. When they later moved to Rosenberg, TX after a house fire, she became a member of Pecan Grove Baptist Church and then Needville Baptist Church. Susan loved Jesus with all her heart.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

Susan Rose passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home in Clifton, TX. She is survived by her son, Sean Halstead. She is also survived by her four siblings, Steven Schoessow, Carl Schoessow, Clarice Fore, and Curtis Schoessow, along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Halstead, her father, Elmer Schoessow, and her mother Norma Klug Schoessow.

Her warmth and smile with greatly be missed on this Earth.
