Robert Sanchez Day, 68, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully at Parkland Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family, on Monday, September 22, 2025. Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10 am to 12 pm, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home with funeral service to follow with Pastor Jacob Resendez officiating.
Robert was born on May 4, 1957, in Waco, Texas, to Albert Andrade Day and Santos Sanchez Day. His father worked as a Cattle Manager at Callan Ranch where Robert grew up in Waco, Texas, Robert excelled in athletics and made a name for himself as a standout track star and as a running back on the football field for Robinson High School. Robert was lightning fast and often making headlines in the local newspaper week after week. After he graduated from Robinson High School his athletic achievements left a lasting impression for many years. Robert was known not only for his talents but also for his intelligence, quick wit, and love of life. He was a fierce competitor on the pool table, also at bowling, and he enjoyed the thrill of a good gamble. He loved to dance to Tejano music, and he had a sharp sense of style, always knowing how to dress and carry himself with confidence. Robert was also a proud restaurant owner, taking great pride in building a business where people could gather, share meals, and feel welcome. Family meant everything to Robert. He adored his nieces and nephews as if they were his own and took every chance he could to clown around with them, creating laughter and memories they will never forget. He had a passion for sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was affectionate and kind-hearted; Robert had a gift for making people feel loved and happy. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Day, and his brother, Johnny Day. Robert is survived by his loving mother, Santos Sanchez Day; sisters, Patricia Caravantes and Linda Day Anderson; brothers, Cecil Day and brother in law, Rob Anderson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Robert’s legacy of love, laughter, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
