Ray Kelly Ooten, 87, of Weatherford, Texas passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
Visitation will be held prior to service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church, 200 S. Lakeshore Dr., Hudson Oaks, TX, 76087, where funeral services will follow at 12. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.
Ray was born on November 05, 1931 to Richard and Erna Ooten in Oakdale, Tennessee. He would graduate from Oakdale High School and join the US Army.
While in the Army, Ray would serve in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He would then be stationed in Mineral Wells and would become a life-long Texan. He would begin employment at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, working his way up until he was the Chief of Advance Design Illustrators in the engineering division. He retired after forty-two years of service.
Ray was strong in his faith and a faithful servant of Christ. During his life, he would spend more than fifty years as a Deacon, including time at Terrance Acres Baptist Church and Westland Heights Baptist Church.
Ray is survived by his wife, Janice Ooten; sister, Imogene Reynolds; twin brother, Roy Ooten; brothers, James and Gary Ooten; children, Doyle and wife, Lisa Ooten, Michael and wife, Carrie Kirkman, Pete and wife, Jennifer Walker, Anthony and wife, Kim McNeil.
Also by grandchildren; Heidi Hudman, Richard Ooten, Brent Kirkman, Amy Kirkman, Mason Walker, Keaton Atkinson, Addison Walker, Gavin Walker, Allie McNeil, Hailey Kirkman, Presley McNeil and Blake McNeil. Great-grandchildren; Nikolai Ooten, Noah Ooten, Nathaniel Hudman, Caleb Kirkman, Eliana Hudman, Lily Hudman, Omri Kirkman, Aurora Kirkman and Natalya Ooten.
