Paul Francis Casper, 89, of Bruceville, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Visitation will be Friday, December 19, 2025 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 12pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Born in Waco, Texas, on November 29, 1936, Paul was the son of the late Frank and Mollie Casper. He grew up in Waco and dedicated his life to his work and family.
Paul had a distinguished career spanning many years with J.W. Bateson Company, where he served as a managing supervisor on major construction projects across the United States. His work helped build significant institutions and landmarks, including VA Hospitals in Columbia, South Carolina; Loma Linda and Los Angeles, California; Federal Office Buildings in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Roanoke, Virginia; the Children's Hospital in Washington D.C.; and the World Trade Center in Baltimore, Maryland. There were many more projects where he applied his expertise and leadership.
Beyond his work, Paul was a familiar face at the Whataburger in Hewitt, where he held daily conversations with friends over his usual "Just a Burger and Coffee," discussing local happenings and politics. At home, he enjoyed watching football games, channel surfing, tending to yard debris, or simply petting the family's beloved goat, dog, and cats. He will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic and his love for simple daily pleasures.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Mary Ethel Brown; his daughters Mellessa Diane Casper and Gail Hutchins; his brother Billy Casper; and his sisters Mary Mohan, Teresa Whitehead, and Betty Blain. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mollie Casper.
He is survived by his son Paul F. Casper and wife Debbie; his daughters Melinda Casper Riedel and Ethel Casper McGehee; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
