Ora was married to the late Henry Samuel Jacobs and to that union four children were born. Not only was she a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was also well-loved in her hometown of McGregor, Texas. She always provided support and love for her family, and no one was a stranger to her. Ora lived by the phrase, “We need to love everybody,” and always tried to do exactly that. She followed the scripture John 15:12: ‘My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you’. She was also an Eastern Star, embodying the spirit of love and the desire to work together for good by giving her time to meaningful projects that benefited mankind. Ora was a devoted member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family where she was an active deaconess, member of Mission, and a member of the choir.

Ora was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School in McGregor, Texas, and received her Certified Nurses Aide and Medication Aide from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. She worked at Westview Manor for over 30 years. While at Westview Manor, she was a very devoted employee and caregiver. She loved her patients and coworkers very dearly. After retirement she still volunteered her time, helping and caring for others.

Her mother and father, husband (Henry), son (Darryl), and great grandson (Samuel) all preceded her in death.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories three daughters; Dwayna R. Herrings of Waco, Texas, Darice N. Jacobs of Killeen, Texas and Paula D. Jacobs of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three brothers and two sisters,  Johnny R. Pleasant and wife Dee of San Antonio, Texas, Richard Pleasant and wife Mable of San Antonio, Texas, Betty J. Ross (preceded by husband Cecil) of Vandenberg, California,  Willie D.
