Netty Jean "Jeanie" Luckhoo passed away Saturday morning the 9th of December 2017, at Whitley Place Assisted Living and Memory Care, In Keller,Texas after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
Jeanie was born in Houston Texas on October 24th 1940 to Newell and Hazel Willis, Soon to be joined in life by her sister Patricia Satterthwaite and her brother Larry Willis. Jeanie graduated Paschal High School in Fort Worth Texas in 1958. Soon after she meet Jerry Carter and had two sons. Christopher Lee Carter and Larry Jason Carter. During this time she primarily worked as a secretary. She and Jerry divorced. Then she went back to school and became a medical assistant where she worked at UNT Health Science Center until she retired in 2004.
She married Sir Lionel Luckhoo and became “Lady” Jeanie Luckoo. She and Sir Lionel traveled the world doing speaking engagements as guests in different churches and missionary work. She was widowed in 1997. She also was Associate Editor Emeritus at Genealogy magazine for 35 years.
She lived in Fort Worth Texas most of her life dedicated to her family and the Lord Jesus Christ. The light she had shone will surely be missed but she is at the foot of our lord and free of the chains that bound her.
She is survived by her sister Pat Satterthwaite and her brother Larry Willis. Her two sons Chris Carter and Jason Carter. Grandchildren: Zachary, Matthew, Katrina, and Collin Carter.
Special thanks to the caring staff of Whitley Place where she spent the last three and a half years and Community Hospice who kept her comfortable in her final days.The service will be at Green Acres Memorial Park in Cleburne, Texas, December 18, 2017 at 1 p.m.
