Michael Miller, Sr.

July 21, 1952 — December 4, 2020

Lorena, TX

Michael Dean Miller Sr. of Lorena, TX went to be with Lord on December 4, 2020.

Michael was born to Golden Maudena Cole-Miller, Mother, and Alvin Carl Miller, father, on July 21, 1952 in Temple, Texas he was one of eight siblings. Michael met and married the love of his life and best friend, Donna Skains.  They had two children: Trina Ann Miller and Michael Dean Miller Jr., and seven grandchildren: Breauna Miller, Michael Miller, Kegean Miller, Landon Felan, Jadon Porter, Emma Porter, Kyndle Miller and one great grandchild, Kegean Miller Jr.

Michael always considered himself blessed to have children, and to his children Trina and Michael, their father was a superhero to them even as adults.  He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.  Highlights of his weeks would include eating lunch with his wife Donna, his son Michael, and taking lunch to his daughter, Trina. He loved day trips with his faithful sidekick, Breauna, Sunday meals with loved ones and working daily with his brother Donald Miller and nephew Toby Miller along with everyone that made the business a second home for Michael at Toby’s Autos.

Michael and Donna made Lorena, TX their home. Family principles were paramount for Michael.  He loved and appreciated his family and friends so much, speaking that family is everything.  Always showing what true love is from the way he loved his family. His strive for working and providing for his family was commended by so many. Leaving a legacy that exemplified true kindness, selflessness and love every single day.  Michael made it a priority to always be there in any way possible and always having a way in taking the seriousness out of any situation by cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. He would often say, “…heaven, everyone is dying to get there!”.  Michael was a devoted man to his family, a leader, a teacher, and hero in more ways than one. He was loved by any who met him and never met a stranger, he had a smile that could light up a room and he was a blessing to all.

In 2017 he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer and fought his way to remission until having to face another bout in 2020.  He was able to overcome many health obstacles with a wonderful team behind him. His drive to live was extremely admirable and just like he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength, grace, and courage. He wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his wife, children, and family, who he adored more than anything in the world.

Michael is survived by his Wife and best friend of 45 years, Donna Miller; children: Trina Ann Miller and Michael Dean Miller Jr and wife, Elisabeth Maria; brothers: Dwight "Ikey" Biggs, Donald Carl Miller and wife, Cindy; Sisters: Gloria Fay Miller-Barr, Goldie Sue "Tootsie" Miller-Chandler and husband, Tommy,  Brenda Ann Miller.  Grandchildren:  Breauna Miller, Michael Miller, Kegean Miller, Landon Felan, Jadon Porter, Emma Porter, Kyndle Miller and great grandchild, Kegean Miller Jr., plus many nieces and nephews who he loved very much.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Golden Maudena Cole-Miller, and father, Alvin Carl Miller, Brothers Billy Biggs and Jerry Biggs and life-long friend Gwendolyn Marshall.
