Maria Ruth Gonzalez

Maria Ruth Gonzalez, affectionately known as “Ruthy”, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Waco, Texas. She was born on November 17, 1961, in Cameron County, Texas. 

Ruthy was a vibrant soul who cherished life and found joy in every moment spent with her family and friends. She had a fondness for beading jewelry, knitting, watching movies, shopping, as well as indulging in coloring and puzzle books. One of her simple pleasures was savoring an occasional Top Shelf Margarita.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Leonor Salinas; mother, Benilde Tovar, husband, Francisco “Chico” Gonzalez; and her brother, Carlos Medina.

Ruthy is survived by her sons, Randy Botello and Jacob Botello with his wife, Juana; daughter Elizabeth (Liz) with her husband Silvino Gutierrez Jr.; sisters Miroslada "Baby" Montoya, Leticia Villagomez, and Guadalupe "Lupe" Mendez; grandchildren, Destany R., Silvino J., and V’Angelo J. Gutierrez and Mariah N., Santana J., Kristy M., and Jessie J. Botello. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The services to honor and remember Ruthy will be held at Waco Memorial Funeral Home located at 6623 Interstate 35 S in Robinson, Texas. A visitation will take place on Monday, July 8th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Rosary will be recited from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 9th starting at 10:00 AM at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Waco Memorial Park.

Maria Ruth Gonzalez touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and kind heart. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love she shared.
