Madeline Ruth Brannon

August 4, 1938 — June 29, 2024

Waco

Madeline Ruth Brannon passed away unexpectedly on June 29th, 2024. Her husband, William Brannon was by her side when she peacefully gained her wings.

Madeline was born on August 4th, 1938 to Willie and Ruth Keeton in Corsicana, Texas. She graduated from high school in 1955.

Madeline worked at the Waco Family Y as the manager of the restaurant for 20 years until she retired in 2000. Mama was an excellent cook; her most requested meals usually included Chicken Fried Steak or Cornbread Dressing.

In 1984, Madeline met Bill and it did not take long for sparks to fly. They were married on September 14th, 1984 in a small ceremony at home. Granny Mad, as she was lovingly called, loved her family, friends and church family.

Madeline is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ruth Keeton; her sister, Valley Jo Easley; her sons, "Big Al" Patrick Alan Choate and Dennis Keith Choate; and daughter, Vicky Lynn Turner.

Madeline is survived by her husband, William Brannon; son, Kevin Wayne Choate; daughter, Linda Sue Bardin; daughter, Mary Robinson and husband, Clarence Robinson; and son, William D Brannon and wife, Kirsten Brannon.

She had a large extended family which included many nieces and nephews. Granny Mad was blessed with so many grandchildren and great grandchildren it would be a really long list. She loved us all.

Her viewing will be Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Her services will be Saturday, July 6th 2024 at 10 am. Both will be at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
