Linda Carol Hargrove Harris, 78, was lovingly welcomed through the gates of heaven on May 29, 2025.
Linda was not just a mother and memaw but a cherished aunt and friend to many. Linda's heart was filled with joy when spending time with friends, singing, and dancing, yet it was the moments shared with her family that brought her the greatest happiness.
Born on November 28, 1947, in Waco, Texas, to Thomas and Darnella (Merritt) Hargrove, Linda was the eldest of their two children. She shared a deep bond with her younger brother, Coleman Lynn Hargrove. Together, they created countless memories around the dining table, sharing stories over coffee and enjoying music with guitar in hand.
Linda attended University High School in Waco, Texas, where she met her soulmate, David Ray Harris Sr. Their youthful love blossomed, and they married on June 1, 1963. As they built their lives together, they welcomed two wonderful children: their son, David Ray Jr., in 1965, and their daughter, Tonya Annette, in 1967. Linda took immense pride in nurturing her children, watching them grow into remarkable individuals. Though their marriage faced its challenges, the enduring love between David and Linda remained a constant source of strength. They always found their way back to each other, reaffirming their bond time and again, until David’s unexpected passing in 2020 which left a profound void in Linda's heart. Her legacy will live on in the love she shared and the memories she created with her family and friends.
