Linda Sue Brown of Waco passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the age of 75.
She was born on January 16, 1950, in Marlin, Texas, to Rufus “Bill” Williams and Dorothy Louise Cloer Williams.
Linda graduated as valedictorian from Axtell High School in 1968. After high school, she continued her education at McLennan Community College graduating with an associates degree. After which she began working at McCrory’s in Waco.
On December 24, 1971, she married Raymond W. Brown in Axtell, Texas. Together, they shared a love for browsing flea markets, garage sales, and estate sales in search of collectibles. They also enjoyed listening to country music. Linda and Raymond had two children, Raymond, who sadly passed away shortly after birth, and Dorothy.
Linda had a special love for animals, especially redbirds and chihuahuas. She enjoyed simple comforts like grilled cheese sandwiches and anything her son-in-law cooked for her. She also found strength and joy in reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond W. Brown (1995); her infant son, Raymond; her sisters, Elizabeth; Brenda Jones; her brother, Donald Williams; and her sister, Betty Wallis, who passed away just four days after Linda.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Zola Fisher, and husband, Rick; sisters, Wilma Sims and Janet Aho; grandchildren, David Fisher, Kristina Fisher, and Robin Fisher; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Peyton, and Evan Fisher. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
