Waco

Juliana “Judy” Torres, born on June 19, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas, to Milton and Mikayla Morales, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Waco, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones.

Judy lived a life devoted to family, faith, and service. She dedicated her early years to caring for her home and children, creating a warm and welcoming environment where love and laughter were always present. Professionally, she served as a counselor for MHMR, where her compassion and understanding touched countless lives. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her work and home—she was known for her generosity, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Judy’s love for cooking inspired her to open her own catering business, Judy’s Kitchen, which she proudly operated for eight years. Her delicious meals and open-door hospitality brought people together and created cherished memories for family, friends, and community members alike.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mikayla Morales; her sister, Stella Contreras; her daughters, Yvonne Zollicoffer and Melissa Resendez; and her son, Robert Torres.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Eliazar L. Torres Sr.; her son, Eliazar L. Torres III, and his wife, Anna; her son-in-law, William Zollicoffer; and her beloved grandchildren: Tony Garcia, Chris Castillo Jr., Christa Castillo, Lexie Zollicoffer, Ariana Zollicoffer, Julianna Resendez, Rudy Resendez, Robert Resendez, Vanessa Esquivel, Ashley Torres, and Omar Santiago; sister-in-law, Josie and husband, Bill; and brother-in-law, Phillip Luna and wife, Margaret. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward with love and pride.

Judy’s legacy of compassion, strength, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the beauty of a heart that never stopped giving.
