Juan A. Yanez, cherished husband, grandpa, great grandpa and great-great grandpa, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, in Waco, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 13, 1938, in Granja de Aguilarez, Guanajuato, Mexico to Gregorio and Eufemia A. Yanez.
Juan dedicated his life to building a better life for his family. He also instilled in them his hard-working habits. He only had a 3rd grade education but worked his way up from sweeping and cleaning and Mosley Machinery to one of their best Machinists. He took pride in being at work on time and every day. Juan went on to work as a Machinist at KD Manufacturing, from where he eventually retired.
He took pride in his heritage and enjoyed telling stories about his grandparents and Otomi ancestors. He always said to be humble and never ashamed of who you are.
Juan enjoyed watching soccer and football with his favorite team being the Dallas Cowboys. No one is perfect in this life and Juan’s imperfection was his drinking, but in the end, he devoted much of his time helping take care of the love of his life, Antonia Yanez. He put up with all the blaming and hair pulling, as result of Antonia’s dementia. Juan is now reunited with his love, Antonia; his parents; grandparents; granddaughter, Sandy Scott; and cherished son-in-law, Daniel Tagle, Sr.
Juan leaves behind three sons, Jorge Yanez and wife, Huda, Jaime Yanez and wife, Dolores, and Alvaro Yanez and wife, Linda; daughters, Blanca Castilleja and husband, Ed and Aida Scott and husband, Michael; a multitude of grandchildren including Mandi, Brandy, Rosa, Diana, Thomas, Alexandria, Kandy, Sarah, David, Paul, Bradley, Sally, Charity, Daniel Jr., Deanna, Morgan, Diane, Patricia, and Priscilla; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; adopted daughter, Cenovia Salazar and her children, Iris, Ruben Sr., and Eric; and his loving companion, Osito.
