Our beloved Mother and Sister, Jo Ann Wrenn (Bennett), 79, of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.

Jo Ann will be remembered for her endless love, kind and generous spirit, and legendary smile. She had an easy way of making people feel welcomed and cared for, and she touched the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts and stories of those who loved her, and in the countless moments of love and laughter they shared together.

Jo Ann dedicated 42 years of her life to the Federal Government, serving most of those years at the VA Hospital in Temple, Texas. Through her work, she had the opportunity to meet, help, and touch the lives of so many people. Her compassion and generosity extended far beyond her family, leaving a lasting impression on the many lives she encountered throughout her career.

Jo Ann is survived by her two children, Benjamin Murdock and his wife, Shannon Murdock, of Huntsville, Texas, and Jack Paxton of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her twin brother, Jack Rand Bennett and his wife, Carobeth Bennett, of Carrollton, Texas, and her sister-in-law, Becky Collins of Boerne, Texas.

Jo Ann was a loving grandmother to Kendall Ann and Logan Bennett Murdock of Huntsville, Texas, as well as a beloved aunt and family member to many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial in Waco, Texas. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember and celebrate a remarkable woman whose love, kindness, and beautiful smile will never be forgotten.

Though she is no longer with us, Jo Ann’s love and memory will remain a part of our family forever. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
