Jimmie Saffel, 86, of Waco, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2025.

Born and raised in Waco, Texas, by his beloved parents, Effie Mae and James Saffel. Growing up, Jimmie attended Waco Technical High School and shortly after chose to proudly serve in the United States Air Force, and after began a 33-year career at the VA Medical Center. He was known for his hard work, quick wit, and generous heart.

In June of 1960, Jimmie married the love of his life, Rosalyn, and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Jimmie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family.

Jimmie loved playing softball in his younger years and never missed a chance to cheer on his Dallas Cowboys. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of the First Pentecostal Church of Waco. He remained with his church family during times of growth and helped build the church’s new location on Robinson Drive, now known as River City Church. Jimmie was known for his humor, warmth, and kindness, which touched the hearts of many.

Jimmie will be remembered for his laughter, his love for his family, and his unwavering faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalyn; children, Wanda Robison and Jimmy Saffel; grandchildren, Amber Campos and James Robison; and great-grandchildren, Lukas and Lance Campos — all of whom brought him endless joy and pride. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Effie Mae and James Saffel; Brother, Donald Saffel; and sister, Wanda Dobias.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."    - 2 Timothy 4:7

Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
