Janet Ann Schuetz

Janet Ann Swank Schuetz, 78, of Waco passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Waco Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Bradburn officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Janet was born March 31, 1945, in Waco to Ernest and Juanita (White) Swank. She graduated from LaVega High School, Class of ’63 and then attended 4C Business School. Janet went to work at Central Motor Company for 4-1/2 years and then at Bird Kultgen Ford, retiring from there after 50 years of service.

On August 24, 1968, Janet married Alfred Schuetz. She and Alfred loved to travel and go camping. They were members of the Tejas Travelers RV Group for 30 years. She looked forward to their annual trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico and to Turkey, Texas for the Bob Wills Day Celebration music festival. Janet liked Texas Swing music and enjoyed twirling around the dance floor with Alfred. She loved spending time with her family and could hardly wait for the family 4^th of July celebrations at Tradinghouse Lake.  She cherished her grandchildren and had so much fun playing with them, especially their traditional game of Chicken Foot during the holidays. Janet also collected shot glasses, receiving many from friends and relatives as gifts during their travels. Sometimes the simple pleasures in life were the best pleasures for Janet, like a good cup of coffee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Jackson; brothers, Leeland, Byron, John Bob, Olan, Rolan, and Jerry Swank.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alfred E. Schuetz; children, Jason E. Schuetz and wife, Kristy and Jennifer Schuetz Pitts and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Logan Schuetz, Makenzie Hollingsworth, Jaxson Pitts, and Jordan Pitts; as well as several nieces and nephews.
