James Bruce Wiltse “Jim”, 73, of Waco, Texas, loving husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Jim was born to Gordon and Betty (Spaulding) Wiltse on November 26, 1952, in Chanute, Kansas. He grew up on a dairy farm, served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked professionally as a collateral inspector. He was a member of First Evangelical Church in Waco, Texas. Jim enjoyed his family, hunting, motorcycles, and Corvettes. He married his loving wife, Melanie (Jensen) Wiltse on June 12, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie (Jensen) Wiltse; his son, Aaron (Tara) Wiltse of La Plata, Maryland; his daughter, Jenna (Slade) Jordan of Waxahachie, Texas; his grandsons, Kamren Washington, Christopher Hall, and Silas Jordan; and his granddaughter, Josephine Jordan. He is also survived by two sisters, Kathy (Jon) Beal of Fredonia, Kansas, and Jane (Jim) Pringle of Manhattan, Kansas; one brother, David (Eileen) Wiltse of Ottawa, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Carol (Richard) Wiltse of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Joy (John) Wiltse of Fort Scott, Kansas; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Betty (Spaulding) Wiltse; and his brothers, Joe Wiltse, John Wiltse, and Richard Wiltse.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on May 15, 2026, at First Evangelical Church, 6347 S IH-35 Service Rd., Waco, Texas 76706. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
