Harvey Harold Bennett, 83, passed away September 18, 2022, in Waco, Texas. A visitation will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with funeral services to follow at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

He was born February 10, 1939, in Otto, Texas to Albert and Bertha (Dietiker) Bennett. Harvey grew up in Otto. He left school around the eighth grade to help the on the family farm. He worked for Lacy Feed, as a truck driver, for a few years and then he went to work at Owens Illinois (glass plant), where he worked for over 30 years until he retired in 1999.

Harvey married Linda in 1959, at First Baptist Church of Mart, and they were happily married for 63 years. He was a member of Kendrick Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, watching sports and westerns, and working in his vegetable garden and his flower beds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bertha Bennett; brothers, Edward and Herbert Bennett; half-brothers, Charles Winkelmann and J.E. Bennett; sister, Martha Humphrey; half-sisters, Myrtle Koester, Ruby Bridges, and Gertrued Roush.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Don Bennett and wife, Patti, Curtis Bennett, Randall Bennett and wife, Kim, and Darrell Bennett; sister, Betty Black; grandchildren, Chris, Krista, Darrell Jr, Shane, Shannon, and Andy; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Kendrick Lane Baptist Church, 2015 Kendrick Lane, Waco, TX 76711.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Baylor Scott & White for their care of him during his last days here on earth.
