Geri went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Indian Oaks Living Center in Harker Heights, Texas. Geri was born in Corsicana, Texas, on June 28th, 1933, to Reba Mae and Robert Johnson. She met and married Bernard H. King in Waco, Texas in 1951. Bernard was a Military Policeman in the United States Air Force. Their eldest son, Stephen Harold King, was born there in 1953.

They moved to Altus, Oklahoma where their second son and only daughter, Johnny and Reba, were born. In 1961 they moved to Tripoli, Libya where they lived for less than a year. In February of 1962 they moved to Berlin, Germany where Bernard was the NCOIC at Tempelhof Air Force Base. Geri acquired her beloved Chee Chee, a white toy poodle while stationed there.

For many years Geri worked in the ladies fashion industry at Cox’s department store as a sales person specializing in shoes and upscale clothing. She had a loyal set of customers whose tastes she knew very well and who returned to her time and time again.

Geri was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was always by Bernard’s side. Bernard passed away in 1972.  Geraldine married Harry Poole in 1985 and remained a dedicated homemaker and loving companion until Harry passed away in 2019.
