Garry Glen Harris, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, surrounded by his family.  A service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 26, 2024, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home with Pat Cummings officiating.

Garry was born on November 14, 1943, in Hillsboro, Texas to JR and Willie Ruth (née Helms) Harris.  The family moved to Bellmead where Garry grew up and graduated from LaVega High School.  Garry met the love of his life Linda Cloud in junior high school.  They were married for 64 years.  Garry was a Mason and a long-time Bellmead Jaycee.  He was involved in youth sports and served on the LaVega ISD School Board.  He was a tireless worker, who built a successful business, several homes, and remodeled several more.  Garry took pride in his work and believed that anything worth doing had to be done right.  He spent his later years chasing grandchildren and great grandchildren to their UIL events and supporting them in their endeavors.  He was a great dad, granddad, and a great friend to have on your side.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Harris; and son, Michael Wayne Harris.

Garry is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Terry Harris and Missy Gimble of Woodway, Texas; grandchildren, Kim Balderrama and husband, Daniel of Woodway, Garry (GC) Harris and wife, Erika of Salado, Livi Lynch and husband, Colton of Crawford, Emilie Harris and Brooks Steele of Houston, Ty Harris of Crawford, Jonathon Shelton and wife, Julie of Waco; greatgrandchildren, Landon Shelton, Jaxson Garcia, Addalyne Garcia, Jhett Garcia, Savannah Harris, John Lynch, Knox Shelton, and Presley Shelton.
