Doris Bean Pirelo

June 9, 1930 — January 12, 2026

Waco

Doris Bean Pirelo, 95, of Waco passed away Monday, January 12, 2026. A graveside service will be Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:30 am at Waco Memorial Park.

Doris was born June 29, 1930 in Cameron, Texas to Dora Pauline Caughron and William Bean. She married Crisp W. Pirelo on December 23, 1950. They had just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Together they raised two daughters, Mary and Christine.

For many years Doris taught Sunday School in the 14 year old Sunday School department at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. She loved teenagers and even took the girls she taught for a drive down Franklin Avenue one time during a class party. Quite to everyone’s surprise, when Doris stopped at a stop light, she led the way for a Chinese fire drill!

Doris was a proud member of the Gideons International Auxiliary for many years. She strongly believed in this ministry and looked forward to monthly meetings.

Doris is survived by her husband, Crisp Pirelo; daughters, Mary Dean (Larry) and Christine Lunger (Robert); grandchildren, Lisa Rogers (Steven), April McAdams (Corey), and Marissa Davenport (Tim); and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Rogers, Caden Rogers, Harper Davenport, Hayden Davenport.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Gideons International. You may donate online if you desire, at gideons.org.
