Claudia Nell Sexton

Claudia Lanell ‘Nell’ Sexton, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Care Center in Waco. Services will be Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:00 am at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be before the service, beginning at 10:00 am. Following services there will be food and fellowship in the funeral home event center.

Claudia was born May 6,1936 in Waco, Texas to CL and Opal (Parks) Nix. She attended Waco schools, graduating from Waco High School. In 1953 she married Marvin Dean Sexton. Claudia was known to be a great hostess. She loved to host family gatherings and have everyone together for the holidays. She adored her children and grandchildren and was a constant at their school and sporting events. She also enjoyed reading her romance novels.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her children, Sam Sexton and wife, Sharon and Patti Townsend; grandchildren, Sally Kirkpatrick and husband, James, Stephen Sexton, Heather Warren and husband, Bobby, Jarrett Townsend, and Weston Townsend; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Sidney Belville; niece, Sherri McDow; and nephew, Greg Belville.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony’s Care Center for the wonderful care shown to Claudia over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
