Charles Allen Wright

            Charles Allen Wright, known as the Mayor of Himrod, NY for 17 years, “Uncle Chuck” to many, “Papa” to his grandchildren, and “Grampy” to his great-grandson passed away peacefully on March 8^th, 2024 in Waco, TX.

            Charles’ wishes were to return to New York.  He will be returning home this coming summer for a celebration of life.

            Charles was born September 18^th, 1946 in Canandaigua, NY to parents Walter Samuel Wright and Lucy Vangelder-Wright.   He attended and graduated from Red Jacket Schools/Manchester-Shortsville Central School District.  He went on to attend the University of California Riverside before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp where he served for 22 years as a MSgt.  Charles married Cynthia in 1998.  Charles and Cynthia loved to make popcorn, grab a few beers and go for long rides down old dirt roads.

            Charles is preceded in death by his parents (Walter and Lucy), as well as his brother (Bob), and sister (Carol).

            Charles is survived in death by his wife Cynthia, his sister Louise and his brothers Walt and Tim.  He is also survived by his children Charise, Chad and Chase, his grandchildren Victoria, Mckayla and Shelby and his great-grandson who is his pride and joy, Christian.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many other close friends, relatives and extended family.
