Celia Marie Austin

Celia Marie Austin, a cherished member of her community and beloved wife and sister, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Robinson.  She was born on September 8, 1940, in Gorman, Texas, to Lonnie Arthur Turner and Bertha Mae Richardson Turner, who preceded her in death.

Celia was a graduate of Waco High School, Class of 1958. Her professional life was marked by her dedication and service, having worked at Texas Instruments in Dallas and Texas Life Insurance Company in Waco. Her most notable tenure was as the Secretary to the Dean in the School of Music at Baylor University, from which she ultimately retired.

Those who knew Celia will remember her for her fun-loving spirit and a delightful sense of humor. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, Jack Austin, whom she married on August 18, 1984, in Waco. Their nearly 41 years together were filled with love, laughter, and companionship.

Celia had a variety of hobbies that showcased her creativity and passion. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting, and relished the opportunity to work in her yard. An animal lover at heart, she filled her home with warmth and joy. While she may not have always considered herself a cook, Celia took great pleasure in preparing family meals during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, cherishing these moments of togetherness and celebration.

Celia is survived by her beloved husband, Jack; sisters, Neta Lewallen and Evelyn Webert and her husband, Merlin; brother, Wilbert Turner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her visitation will take place at Waco Memorial Funeral Home in Robinson, on August 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location beginning at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Waco Memorial Park.

Celia Marie Austin leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and cherished memories that will be held dear by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
