Bonnie Ladene Cole Flatt, 93, of Keller, TX passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. A graveside service will be Friday, March 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Waco Memorial Park with Pastor Richard Creech officiating. In honor of Bonnie and her love of bright colors and pastels, if planning to attend her service, please pay tribute by wearing her favorite colors.
Bonnie was born February 1, 1931, in Bosque County, TX to the late Evins Mearl Cole and Florence Ray Allen Cole. Bonnie attended schools in Bosque County in her early years. She loved to play basketball as a student and grew to love watching the sport as an adult.
Bonnie was a devout Christian and prided herself on how many times she read the Bible completely through in one year. She was also proud of her family and the care she took of them and her home.
Bonnie had a great sense of humor and could frequently be heard laughing. She had a genuine smile that was contagious. She truly cared about others and was the first to bake a cake, pie, or cookies for anyone who was sick, grieving or suffering in any way. Her kindness, compassion and love for others will never be forgotten.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Mearl Odell Cole; and husband of 56 years, Norvil Lavelle Flatt.
She will be remembered and missed by her sisters, Barbara Ann Cole Lawrence of Mingus, TX and Shirley Glenda Cole Barker of Midlothian, TX; daughter, Debra Diane Flatt Dunn (Debbie) and husband, Gary of Grapevine, TX; son, Thomas Lavell Flatt (Tom) and wife, Wanda of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandchildren, Jackie Flatt of Odessa, TX, Rachel Flatt of Sulphur Springs, TX, David Dunn of Euless, TX, and Jennifer Dunn of Ft. Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Tyler Dunn of Dallas, TX, Brittany Dunn of Austin, TX, and Juliana Thomas of Odessa, TX; in-laws, Nell Flatt of Montgomery, AL, James Barker of Midlothian, TX, and Rex Coffelt of Clifton, TX; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Bonnie will also be missed by her roommate, June Gage of Keller, TX and numerous other friends at The Conservatory at Keller Town Center.
