Alma Bridges

January 17, 1928 — December 21, 2017

Alma Louise Tackett Bridges, left this earth and obtained her eternal life with her Lord and Savior, December 21, 2017.

Pastor Eric Howell will be officiating services at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.

Alma was born January 17, 1928, in Corsicana, Texas, to Leon Tackett and Beulah Mae Tackett Bibb. She was married to the love of her life, O.C. Bridges for 72 years. Alma held a masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Education, she went on to become a teacher and a principal. She enjoyed fishing, playing games and visiting with family and friends. She loved her family, friends and her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Tackett and Beulah Mae Bibb; brothers, Johnny Tackett, James Tackett and Donald Tackett; sisters, Jewel Fields and Betty Ickles.

Alma is survived by her loving husband, O.C. Bridges; children, Sam and Irene Bridges, Ronald and Sherron Bridges; brothers and sisters, Bessie and Curtis Krames, Betty Jo and husband Jessie Bibb, Colin Bibb, Judy and husband, Mickey Bibb, Melinda and husband, Raymond Vinson and Faye Tackett; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Alma loved her friends at Ridgecrest Retirement Center. She will be tremendously missed.
