Lawrence (Larry) Routly, 89 of Waco, was called home to Our Lord April 22, 2022.

Larry was born in Flint, MI to Orville and Annie Routly. He was the last son of a family of four brothers and one sister. Three of his brothers served in World War II, two in the Navy and one in the Air Force. After graduation from high school, Larry enlisted in the US Air Force, where he proudly served from 1950-1954. He was involved with Early Warning Radar Operation and Flight Training.

After his discharge, he was employed in the missile industry where he traveled throughout the U.S. He also traveled extensively worldwide.

Larry met and married Mary while in New Orleans when he worked for Chrysler Corp. / Space Division. They eventually settled in Waco.

Larry loved playing golf, the Dallas Cowboys and pecan pie, and anything Texas, especially country and western music.He was a good and kind man. He loved animals and was deemed the dog whisperer by his daughter-in-law, Sandy.

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary of Waco; three sons, Jeff of Lockport, NY, Rick and wife Sandy of Ft. Worth, and Bryan of Fate, TX; grandchildren Justin of Lockport, NY, Ross of Brock, TX, Jacqueline of Aledo, TX, and Jennifer of Ft. Worth, TX; two great grandchildren, Emma and Elijah of Lockport, NY; and brother Don Routly of Port Clinton, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gordon, Robert and Ted; sister Ila; son Robby Mark; and grandson Spencer Reid.

The family would like to offer thanks to Blue Bonnet Hospice for their care at the end of Larry’s precious life.

A memorial service will be held at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 PM.
