Geneva Moore

September 28, 1921 — June 21, 2022

Geneva, a former resident of Waco and Bruceville Texas, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Geneva was born at Mount Calm, Texas on September 28, 1921, to Bettie and Thomas Wyle. She met and married the love of her life, Charles (CO) Moore, in Waco in 1941.

They moved to Santa Ana, California during WWII while CO served in the Army Air Force, where their daughter, Charlene, was born. The family returned to Waco upon CO’s discharge.

In 1950 they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas where CO was manager and chief baker for Shamrock Bakery. In 1955 the Moores moved to Hillsboro, Texas when CO took a job as a salesman for Tom Houston Peanut Company, before returning to Waco in 1960. He later served as Vice President of Allied Tire Co.

Geneva was a loving and devoted wife and mother who always was by CO’s side to lend a helping hand.

CO and Geneva enjoyed activities with Waco senior groups and were active members of Bruceville Baptist Church for over 40 years where they faithfully participated in church ministry and activities. Geneva was also a long-time member of Walter Baldwin and Lorena Eastern Star Chapters, serving in various offices. For many years she worked for Montgomery Wards, primarily in the receiving department.

For the past several years, Geneva lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Dallas, before moving to a local memory care facility.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, CO, and an older brother, Alton Wylie. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Charlene and Brady Pamplin, their daughters and their spouses: Anita Pamplin of Dallas, Celeste and Joseph Mescia of Norwalk, Connecticut, Sharon and Jared Gradle of Dallas along with 4 great-grandchildren: Justin Mescia, Madison Mescia, Nicholas Gradle, and Alexander Gradle, as well as nieces and nephews with their extended families.

A private graveside service will be held Saturday, June 25th at Waco Memorial Cemetery. At Geneva’s request, no viewing or visitation times will be held.
