Wyndell R. McDanielsJuly 18, 1941~August 25, 2009 Wyndell R. McDaniels, 68, of Waco, went to be with God on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. God took Wyndell's hand and led him home after a long illness which was fought with dignity, faith and courage. A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Amos Humphries officiating. Burial will follow at McGregor Cemetery. Viewing will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, August 27 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wyndell Royce was born July 18, 1941 in Waco, Texas to Mary L. German and Ollie Elliott McDaniels. He graduated from Waco High and later married the love of his life, Wanda Williams on November 23, 1963. Wyndell was a devout Christian who held membership at Park Lake Drive Baptist Church. Prior to his skin cancer, Wyndell was an avid bass fisherman. He retired from working as an estimator with Traffic Control Devices which is what he did his entire career. His wife, daughter and grandsons were his world ~ how Papa idolized those grandsons, and they him! Preceding him in death were his father; and sister, Mary Elizabeth McDaniels. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Wanda Williams McDaniels; daughter, Andi and husband Steve Harrison; grandsons, Jamison High and Brantly Harrison; mother, Mary L. McDaniels; brother, Stanley McDaniels and wife, Lana; sister, Shirley Rogers; brothers-in-law, Harlan Williams and wife, Nancy and Mickey Williams and wife, Nanci; his loving dog, Buddy; and numerous other loving relatives. Pallbearers will be Jamison High, Ricky Jimenez, Bobby McDaniels, Wyndell McRay, Justin Williams and West Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Markum and Jerry McRay. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
