Wilma Miriam (Grandma) Buchanan, age 92, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 in a local hospital in Waco, Texas. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m., at Connally/Compton with Reverend Tommy Frazier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Waco Memorial Park.Wilma was born August 6, 1924 to William and Irene (Patterson) Brown in Bosque County, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of Mold Breakers Fellowship in Waco. Wilma married Shelby C. Buchanan who preceded her death April 21, 2002. Wilma was a homemaker and she enjoyed traveling the country and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and three sisters. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, son, Carlton Buchanan and wife, Christine of Waco; daughter, Rita Johnson of Waco; grandchildren: Alan Buchanan and wife, Leigh, Tim Buchanan and wife, Shawn, Kathy Mitchell and husband, Bobby, and Pam Guderian and husband, Shannon, Brian P. Johnson and Miranda Asbridge; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Henthorne of Itasca, and brother-in-law, Doyle Buchanan of Waco; sister-in-law, Dortha Brown; numerous nieces and nephews.
