Wayne (Joe) HeddenJanuary 10, 1948 ~ December 25, 2007 Wayne (Joe) Hedden, 59, of Waco died on Tuesday, December 25, 2007. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Irudayaraj Nelapatti-Thomas officiating. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Wayne Joseph Hedden, III was born to Bernice Marie Shriner and Wayne Joseph Hedden, Jr. on Jan. 10, 1948 in Hawarden, Iowa. He married Mary Lou Eichacker on June 21, 1974. Wayne was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also belonged to the Waco C.O.P. unit. He was a former coach and umpire with the Southern Little League. He enjoyed camping and tinkering out in "Goofy's Garage" as he jokingly referred to it. Wayne never met a stranger and was always lending a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone else in need. Even though he got polio as a baby and survived two open heart surgeries, Wayne never thought of himself as handicapped. Preceding Wayne in death were his parents; and son, Joshua Joe Hedden in 1994. Those left behind to cherish his memory are wife, Mary Hedden of Waco; son, Wayne Joseph Hedden, IV and wife, Janette of Waco; daughter, Stacey Stafford and husband, Bobby of Robinson; six grandchildren; and siblings, Sharon VanNoort, Donna Hugh, Kerry Hedden, Kim Albers, Kirby Hedden and Kody Hedden.
