Velma Rose Wernette, age 85, passed away Saturday, August 01, 2015 in Round Rock, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. with recitation of Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Connally Compton Funeral Home with Father Augustine Ariwaodo officiating and interment to follow in Rosemound Cemetery.Velma was born October 1, 1929 to Phillip and Elma (Brieden) Jungman in Von Ormy, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Hewitt, Texas. Velma is preceded in death by her parent; son, Robert Wernette; sisters, Bernice Evans, Elaine Trammell, and Florene King.Velma leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Leroy M. Wernette, Sr. of Waco; daughters, Verna Washburn of Temple, Vera Martin of Groesbeck, Sharon Erwin of Austin, and Nancy Bullard and husband, Rod of Austin; sons, Leroy Wernette, Jr. and wife, Pat of Austin, Paul Wernette and wife, Tarvah of Riesel; grandchildren: Monica, Misty, Joe Lee, Cheyenne, Coti, Waylon, Tania, Michael, and Ashlee; great-grandchildren: Hagen, Jacob, Sean, Ava, Ryann, and Easton; daughter-in-law, Linda Wernette of Hewitt; brother-in-law, M. J. Trammell of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
