Troy Lee Farr passed away peacefully May 18, 2016. He was born near Gainesville, TX to Clark and Alice Farr on August 3, 1925. Troy attended school in Whitesboro, TX. He was a proud veteran of WWII, and served his country as a Merchant Marine. After the war, he returned to Whitesboro and married Louise Stephens Farr. Troy was a "telephone man" and worked for Southwestern Bell, then AT&T for 40 years. His was a life of dedicated service to his family, church and community.The doors of the Farr home were always open to family, friends and kids from all over the neighborhood. Troy was a Christian example to all who knew him. A loving and dedicated family-man, he coached little league baseball, volunteered with Boy Scouts and traveled untold miles to attend sporting and milestone events for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Troy was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.He and Louise went on many youth and senior adult mission trips all over the country. He was a member of Texas Baptist Men's Assn., the Brazos River Good Sam's Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with friends.Troy was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; two grandchildren; and recently, his wife of 68 years, Louise Farr.He is survived by four children, Michael Farr, Jerry Farr and Robby Farr all of Waco, and Susan Farr Johnson of Waxahachie; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and extended family.A Celebration of Troy and Louise's life together was held following her passing.
