Obituary

Lifelong Waco resident, Mrs. Trinidad C. "Triny" Silva, 93, passed away at Hillcrest after living a fulfilling and active life, November 27, 2013.Mass of Christian Burial will be 11a.m., Wednesday, December 4, at St. Francis Catholic Church.Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.A visitation will be held from 5p.m. to 8p.m. Tuesday, December 3, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. The Rosary will be recited at 6p.m.Triny was born October 10, 1920 in Waco, Texas to Gorgonia (Torres) and Erculano Carrizales. On September 5, 1959, she married the love of her life Clemente A. Silva who preceded her in death July 8, 1993. She was known by family and friends by Triny, Grandma Silva and Aunt Triny. She lived a long historic life living through WW II working at the local bomb factory in Bellmead. She told stories of being able to sew the parachutes for the Normandy Invasion and was a survivor of the 1953 Waco Tornado actually being downtown when it hit. Triny was a huge sports fan from baseball to football, she loved them all but, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers were her favorites. She rarely missed the opportunity to see her sons play for the La Vega Pirates and two of her grandsons play for the Riesel Indians.She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Waco. Yard work was one of her favorite things to do, cutting her own grass up until the age of 90. Triny was a hard worker and was friends to young and old. To some she was even known as Grandma Silva.She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Clemente "Clem" Silva.Survivors include sons, Ricardo "Ricky" Silva and wife Terrie and Alfredo "Alfred" Silva and wife Wendy; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother Dennis Carrizales, Sr. and many other family and friends.Pallbearers will be Tony Cortez, Dennis Carrizales, Jr., Steve Machen, Bobby Machen, Matthew Silva, and Justin Williams.
