Susie Barrientez Salinas, 81, passed away in Waco on October 19, 2015.Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., October 23, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.Visitation will be from 5 to 8p.m., Thursday, October 22, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. The rosary will be recited at 7:00.p.m.Susie was born January 12, 1934 in Speegleville, Texas to Francisco and Ricarda Barrientez. Susie was a very hardworking mother who had amazing strength; she raised 16 children. With this strength she instilled respect, strong work ethics and loyalty. She retired in 1999 from Mrs. Baird's Bakery after working for 32 years. She was a great mother and grandmother; if it wasn't for her most of the family wouldn't be the people they are today. Susie was a top notch cook; she prepared homemade tortillas that were amazing. She was a longtime member of St. Francis Catholic Church and her faith in God was very important to her. She was a member of the Apostalado and the Cursillistas.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Prudencio Paul Salinas; brothers, Frank and Johnny; sons, Richard Ayala and Patrick Salinas; grandson, Henry Rodriguez; and great grandsons, Jay Matthew and Jordan.Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Beatrice, Teresa, Patricia, Paula, Susie, Gloria, Linda, Viola, Rita, and Soila; sons, Jesse, Raymond, Frank, Jimmy, John Paul and Eloy; sisters, Helen, Trini, Josie, Mona, and Inez; brothers, Tony, Albert and Jimmy; 67 grandchildren, 144 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
