Susan Celeste McDonald It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Celeste McDonald, who passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 75. Susan was born on May 9, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Charles and Maxine Hand.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared 57 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Steve Wayne McDonald. Together, they built a loving family and raised three children: Holly Meadows (husband Mark), Casey Fieseler (husband Jason), and Steven McDonald.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Tanner Eure, Madison Meadows, Cade Fieseler, and Cash Fieseler, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Danny Hand and family, and Curt Hand and family.

Susan found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved music and treasured memories of attending concerts with Steve in the 1970s. She adored her Boston Terriers, enjoyed fishing, and loved spending time outdoors in Colorado. She especially cherished watching her son play baseball, shopping with her daughters, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren.

Susan wanted to share the following poem with those she loved:

“To those I love: If I should ever leave you whom I love to go along the Silent Way, grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there. I’d come—I’d come, could I but find a way! And when you hear a song or see a bird I loved, please do not let the thought of me be sad… For I am loving you just as I always have… You were so good to me! There are so many things I wanted still to do—so many things to say to you… Remember that I did not fear—it was just leaving you that was so hard to face… We cannot see beyond… But this I know: I loved you so—’twas heaven here with you!”
