Steve Sutkowski, 94, passed away January 24, at a local hospital in Waco.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10:00a.m., January 27, at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Stephan Rynearson officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8:00p.m., January 26, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.Steve was born December 24, 1921, in Bayonne, NJ to Adam and Antonina Sutkowski. He served in the United States Army for a few years during WW II. Steve worked many years at Imperial Woodworks until he retired. On June 1, 1974, Steve married the love of his life, Ruby Buro. He was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church. Steve enjoyed watching baseball; the Yankee's were his favorite team. He loved to spend time outdoors birdwatching and feeding the squirrels. Steve maintained a beautiful yard even into his later years. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Pauline Gawrych, Helen Schelmay, Edward Sutkowski and Chester Sutkowski and granddaughter, Debra Rybkowski.Survivors include his wife of nearly 42 years, Ruby Sutkowski; children, Stephen Sutkowski and wife Carol, of North Carolina, Kay Hardisty, of Connecticut, Linda Richard and husband Ernest, of Hewitt, Joyce Riddle and husband Larry, of Purmela, TX, and Roy Erlanson, of Evant, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and siblings, Dorothy Lewis and Jean Bryk. Pallbearers will be Larry Riddle, Greg Lemanski, Eric Boswell, Ricky Buro, Jerry Buro, and Corey McAdams.
