Stephen Allen Smith, 63, passed away March 14, 2016 in Temple.A private family service will be held on Wednesday.Stephen will be available for viewing Tuesday, March 15, from 2:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.Stephen was born October 10, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a member of the United States Army for several years before becoming a mail carrier for the USPS. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, James Smith and his In-laws, Ben and Ruby Sutter and brother-in-law Carrol Sutter.Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Nancy Smith; children, Todd Murrell and wife Jamie and Amanda Kay Smith; grandchildren, Ashley Kay and Clayton; mother, Betty Jones and husband Wayne who is like a father to Stephen; siblings, Janet Schafer and husband Robert, Cindy Polando, Darla Jones and Mike Smith and several nieces, nephews and friends.Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
