Speedy Thomas, 75, of Aquilla, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with the Reverend Jack Bodenhamer officiating. Interment will follow in Patrick Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7th at the funeral home.Mr. Thomas was born on May 20, 1939 in Waco, Texas to Sie and Leora "Dink" (Baker) Thomas. He married Marian "Jean" Rogers on December 17, 1960 in Waco and they celebrated over 54 wonderful years together. Mr. Thomas loved working in his garden and yard but his true love was his puppies and grandbabies. He was a Baptist. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Vernon Carroll Thomas and sister-in-law; Louise.Survivors include his wife; Jean Thomas, son; David Lance Thomas and his wife, Carla, daughters; Tami Denise Maler and her husband, Jeff and Sheri Leigh Ayres and her husband, Steve, grandchildren; Michael, Justin, Ashley, Brandon, Emily, Christopher, Molly, Tyler, Tricia, Stephen and Jeffrey, great grandchildren; Abrianna, Connor, Deryn, Chloe, Heyli, Maverick, Kaelyn, Emma, Easton, Pemberley, Rynleigh and 2 on the way, and brothers; Sie Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Faye and George Thomas and his wife, Bobbie.The family would like to thank Providence Hospice of Whitney for the love, compassion and care they gave to Mr. Thomas.
