Sofia JuarezApril 30, 1928 – Jan. 22, 2007 Sofia Sevilla Fernandez Juarez, 78, of Waco, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007 at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Sergio Lopez as celebrant. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Sofia was born April 30, 1928 in Tampico, Mexico to Miguel and Illaria Sierra Sevilla. She immigrated to the United States in 1947, and settled in Waco where she lived and raised her family. Sofia was very proud when she became an American Citizen on Oct. 15, 1999. She was a devoted catholic that loved her family. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Antonio Fernandez, and son Daniel Martinez. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Juanita and Leon Luzunaris, Guadalupe and Faustino Hernandez, Lilly and Benny Rodriquez, Dora Fernandez, Maria and Keith Niswanger, Julie Rodriquez, Rosa Fernandez and Sam Martinez, Esperansa Fernandez, Kathy and Greg Harris, Amelia and Jesse Salinas, Tony Fernandez, Linda and Victor Cardoso; 45 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Benny Rodriquez, Keith Niswanger, Greg Harris, Jesse Salinas, Tony Fernandez and Victor Cardoso. Honorary pallbearers are Leon Luzunaris and Faustino Hernandez.
