Simona Rodriquez GonzalezFebruary 28, 1940 ~ March 27, 2008 Simona R. Gonzalez (Mom) passed away at a local hospital on March 27, 2008. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm with Rosary recited at 7 pm on Sun. March 30 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10 am Mon. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Solar as Officiant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Simona was born Feb. 28, 1940 in Bremond, TX to Consuelo (Cruz) and Simon Rodriquez. She was very ambitious and eventually owned and operated the La Mexicanita, a very popular music shop in town. She also organized several Christmas Parades for the children in South Waco, and they always looked forward to having them. She raised five children, consistently showing "Tough Love" and high expectations which made them the people they are today and absolutely adored her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Pete, David and Nick Rodriquez and sisters, Angelina Rodriquez and Lupe Salazar. Survivors include her husband, Atanacio Gonzalez of Waco; son Saint Francisco (Frank) Aguilar and wife Diane of Georgia, son Roberto R. Aguilar, Jr., daughter Molly Ann Rodriquez and fiancé Melvin, daughter Consuelo Alarcon and husband Vicente and son Ernest R. Aguilar and wife Miguelina all of Waco; grandchildren, Gary, Brandon, Ashley, Bradley, Amanda, Vanessa, Fernando, Christopher, Reynaldo, John Eric, Catherine, Eric, Tony, Christine, Brianna, Alexia, Davis (Nick) and Simona (Baby); 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Nina Dario, Dr. Wilson and especially Dr. James Graham for the excellent care they gave to their mother and special recognition to Simona (Baby) for her dedication and loving care she gave to her grandmother. Pallbearers will be Tony Sanchez, Jr., Davis (Nick) Alarcon, Eric Renobato, Simona Alarcon, Vanessa Aguilar and Reynaldo Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers will be Christine Sanchez, Amanda Pecina, Christopher Aguilar and John Eric Sigut.
