Selva Jean GillelandAugust 29, 1938 – May 14, 2009 Services for Selva Jean Plemons Gilleland, 70, of Waco, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Connally Funeral Home Chapel in Waco with Chaplain Suzanne Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Selva Jean passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 in a Waco care facility. Selva was born August 29, 1938 in Waco to Howard Payne Plemons and Alberta Reed Plemons. She worked in the medical field in Waco for many years and retired from Dr. Thomas Jackson's office. She belonged to Waco Walter Baldwin Chapter #929 and Hillsboro Chapter 769. She was active in Eastern Star where she served as Past Worthy Matron in both Hillsboro and Waco. Mrs. Gilleland was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James Gilleland in March 2004, by her son John Howard Holland in 1983, and by both parents. Survivors include two sisters, Angie Lehman and her husband Juston of Waco and Linda Grote and her husband Lamar of Perry; several nieces, nephews and cousins; wonderful extended family; and many special friends of the Order of the Eastern Star.
