Selma S. HenselDecember 1, 1917 --- June 3, 2007 Selma S. Hensel, 89, of Waco passed away early on Sunday, June 3, 2007. Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Rynearson officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 4 at the funeral home. Selma was born Dec. 1, 1917 to parents, Lena (Gorlitz) and Ben Bohot in Bastrop, Texas. Selma was married to Oscar in Giddings, Texas at the age of 23 on September 29, 1940. They attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Austin from the 1940's to 1984 when they retired and moved to Waco and then attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Waco. Selma worked at Trinity for many years helping cook for the school and also helped make Braille Bibles. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved cooking for her family and sewing for herself and her family. She enjoyed her yard and flowers. She and Oscar had so much fun fishing together in Giddings especially when the grandkids came along. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 45 years, Oscar Albert Hensel on Dec. 28, 1985; brother, Herbert Bohot; and sisters, Annie Grimm and Minnie Christensen; She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Marie Baker and husband Art Baker of Waco; sister, Lillie Foerster and husband, John of Giddings; brother, George Bohot and wife, Eunice of Wimberly; grandchildren, Theron Bain and wife Krista, Ashley Tucker and her husband Tim and Micah Prochnow and her husband Shane all of Waco Texas. Her great-grandchildren are Brooke Bain, Hanna and Heath Tucker, and Lars and Saxony Prochnow. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund, 200 Factory Dr., Waco, TX 76710.
