R. Jack Wilson, 86, of Waco died at a local nursing home on Monday, March 7, 2005. Services will be 10 am Wednesday, March 9 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park North.Jack was born to Alexander McDonald and Belle Sisco Wilson on July 14, 1918 in Honey Grove. He married Antoinette Marie Voznica on Feb. 9, 1945. Jack was a bus driver in Michigan, then was shift foreman at Owens Illinois Glass Plant. He then became a businessman/entrepreneur and opened a hamburger joint on Speight, Toni's Variety in Woodway, Kountry Market & Kitchen in Woodway, Dairy Twist and finally Artist's Haven. His hobby was Intarsia (artistic woodwork). Jack was a charter member of Woodway Methodist Church and builder of the original pulpit.Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and wife on March 11, 2001 after 56 years of marriage.Surviving Jack are his sons, Steve Wilson of Katy and Lana Wilson of Richmond, and Don Wilson of Canton, Georgia; daughters, Rene Kennedy and husband Rodger of Yantis, and Joan Adams of Smyrna, Georgia; grandchildren, Eric Wilson and wife Chrissy, Jared Wilson and Ryan Kennedy; and two great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Norman Conner, Glenn Furman, Joseph Gilliland, Weldon Josey, Claude McCauley and Jim Todd..
