He married the love of his life, Shirley Ruth Jones, on November 6, 1964. Owner and founder of Hill Bail Bonds, Ron entered the bail bond business in 1987, his third long term career. Ron first entered the construction business as a pipe fitter, then welder setting pipe lines in the States of Louisiana and Texas. He spent several years in the off shore pipe lines stemming from England, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Scotland, Saudi Arabia and Mexico for the Brown and Root Company. After 15 years Ron embarked on his 2nd long term career as a partner in his Father's Used Car operation. Ron began to follow the bail bond business across the street from his car lot and in 1987 decided he would try another career, bail bonds. Ron grew his company into one of the largest bail bonding companies in McLennan County, and quickly spread to several other Texas counties including Bosque, Falls, Hill, Coryell, and Tarrant Counties. Ron was also very active in the State and National Associations of Bail Bonds. He served as President of the Professional Bondsman of Texas for 2 years, and Secretary of the same association for 4 years. Ron served as a Board of Trustees of PBT and was very active on several of their committees. In between all of these careers Ron was very active in Real Estate, as a developer and broker. Since 1972 Ron's common sense approach to all his careers made him the successful and respected man he is today. Ron never met a stranger; his smile and witty attitude toward life was infectious, and when he entered a room you knew he was there. Preceding Ron in death were his parents; brother, Duke Stewart Elliott; and sister, Margaret Kay "Peggy" Elliott. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Shirley Hill, of Waco; son, Billy J. Hill of Waco; brother, Danny Elliott of Brownwood; sister, Anita Lane of Corsicana; Also plenty of other loving nieces and nephews and The "office family". Pallbearers will be Terry Chapman, Arthur Contreras, Daniel Ketchum, Charles Pickens, Ryan Smith and Jeff Windham.
