Robert Fred Reich, 61, of Riesel, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel with the Reverend A.E. Gallmeier officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 4th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.Mr. Reich was born January 17, 1943 in Marlin, Texas to Lee and Louise Grams Reich. He married Doris Stieg on July 18, 1964 in Riesel. Mr. Reich worked for Cameron Mills for 27 years, Plantation Foods and K-D ManiTou until his illness. His pride and joy was working on his ranch. Mr. Reich was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel since 1964 and a former member of St. Paul's in Marlin. His parents preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Doris Reich of Riesel, brothers, Adolph and Neil Reich of Otto, sisters Betty Schraeder of Riesel and Irene Brown of Axtell, brother-in-law, Harold E.O. Stieg of Waco, sisters-in-law, Helen Yarborough of Houston and Bernice Spector of Rosenberg and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be George Mitchell, Robert Earl Reich, Kent "Bubba" Reich, Nicholas Spector, Stuart Oertli and Kenneth Alexander.The family would like to thank Providence Hospice for their professional loving care and to St. Catherine's Center.Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, Trinity Lutheran Church of Riesel or to the American Cancer Society.
