Ramona SabidoAugust 31, 1908 – February 16, 2011 Ramona Sabido, 102, of Waco, passed away peacefully surrounded by many family members on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at her daughter's residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2011 at Centro Evangelistico Church, 2701 S. University Parks Drive, with her son, Pastor Arturo Sabido officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Victoriano. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Ramona was born August 31, 1908 in Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico, to Juan and Tomasa (Trejo) Rosas. She was an amazing woman who could frequently be heard speaking her native Maya language. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was an accomplished cook and often opened her home to care for others. Ramona dedicated her life to her family and her church. She spent her time on this earth in the service of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She graciously shared his word with all of those who were in need of his blessings. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Tomasa Rosas; husband, Victoriano Sabido, children, Edilberto, Miguelina, Manuel, Hector Raul, Jorge Raul; and brother, Juan Rosas. Those left behind to cherish Ramona's memory are her children, Hernan Sabido, of Waco, Elda Waschman, of Waco, Juan Sabido and wife, Rocio, of Waco, Nelly Sarricolea, of Waco, Elsy Pevia and husband, Prudencio, of Coolidge, Ramon Sabido and wife, Lilly, of Waco, Arturo Sabido and wife, Delia, of Waco, Paula McCommas and husband, Kirk, of Waco; 75 grandchildren, 158 great grandchildren, and 126 great great grandchildren. The family would like to extend its appreciation to Providence Hospice Care of Waco for their care and support during this difficult time. Throughout her life, Ramona has been a blessing to so many and she will be deeply missed. Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
