Ramon Vigil, 66, of Waco, passed away after a battle with cancer on Friday, July 2, 2004. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Sergio Lopez as Celebrant. Rosary will be recited at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 5.Ramon Nonato Vigil was born on August 31, 1937 to Fernando and Rita Guerra Vigil in Asa, Texas. He served two years in the U.S. Army before marrying his sweetheart, Emma Ernestine Castilleja, on November 30, 1965. Ramon was a very hard worker, committed husband, loving father, good, trusting friend who enjoyed working in his yard. He was employed by O'Grady Containers for twenty-two years and then retired in Dec. 2002 from Owens Corning after beginning there in 1986.Preceding Ramon in death are his parents, father-in-law, Alfonso (Poncho) Castilleja; brothers-in-law, Alfonso Castilleja, Jr., Carlos Perez, Robert Gonzales, Sr. and Jesse Ramirez.Ramon is survived by his wife, Emma Vigil of Waco; sons, Fernando (Freddy) Vigil and Ramon Vigil, Jr., both of Waco; brother, Jimmy Vigil of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Paul Gerald Castilleja, Phillip Gilmore, Dwayne Park, Matthew Rodriquez, Domingo Villafana and Ralph Villafana.
